May is national Mental Health Awareness Month. In America, a large portion of mental health is related to working conditions. Managers and other leaders at our places of work are tasked with curating the work environment and culture to be inclusive and safe. An article from the Management Center, titled How to Manage When Things Are Not Okay (And Haven’t Been For Centuries), is a resource to help leadership engage in conversations about race with their teams. This article includes a list of ways to talk to your team about what is happening and why it matters.
