Positive Behavior Support Trainings

PBS Intensive Series

Applying Positive Behavior Supports in Minnesota Human Service Settings

Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is framework that helps people make positive changes in their lives. A PBS plan starts with person-centered planning and values so that teams can use the principles of behavior to improve quality of life and decrease challenging social interactions. When implemented at a systems level, PBS can also improve workforce related issues related to decreases in staff turnover and workers compensation. PBS plans are led by children and adults who choose to participate and involve a team approach that helps people build their strengths. The six PBS intensive trainings is offered annually and is meant to introduce the key elements of tier 3 PBS. Learn more about Tier 3 PBS here. Sending a small number of staff through this training will help teams implementing organization-wide PBS to better understand the underlying elements of PBS across all three tiers.
