Telehealth and Remote Positive Supports Training

These sessions are designed for community providers seeking best practices in telehealth and remote support to deliver positive services and overcome access barriers for children, youth, and adults, Each session has a specific focus:

Day 1: Provides a brief overview of the four-part training series and available resources, emphasizing telehealth and remote supports to address services access barriers in Minnesota.

Day 2: Focuses on using telehealth and remote strategies to support individuals and families with positive support practices and tele-practices in home and community settings.

Day 3: Addresses the use of remote supervision, training, teaming, and consultation to enhance service quality and equity, offering flexible methods to supervise geographically dispersed teams.

Day 4: Concentrates on implementing telehealth and remote supports to improve positive support services at an organizational system level.

Day 1- Telehealth & Remote Supports to Improve Barriers to Service Access

This first session is focused on improving access to high-quality, flexible, equitable, and person-centered telehealth and remote supports in Minnesota. The session is designed for community providers seeking best practices in telehealth and remote supports to deliver positive services and overcome access barriers for children, youth, and adults. The Day 1 session addresses common barriers that are encountered and provides an overview of essential telehealth support features. The presentation slides and an almost 2-hour recorded presentation can be used as part of an entire presentation or sections of the content can be used to supplement other training. Attendees are encourages to use training to map out the barriers they have encountered related to the types of services they receive and/or provide.

Day 2- Supporting Individuals & Families in Their Homes and Communities via Telehealth

The second session describes how to use telehealth and/or remote strategies to support individuals or families using telehealth strategies to implement positive support practices in home and community settings. An overview of positive support practices, person-centered services, and strategies for offering a continuum of increasingly intensive supports using a telehealth framework are discussed. The Day 2 session includes scenario-based examples to illustrate how assessment and intervention are reflected in these tiered frameworks, enabling attendees to learn how telehealth and remote supports can be used to implement positive supports at the individual level. Training materials, including presentation slides and a 2-hour session recording are available as part of an entire presentation or sections of content can be used to supplement other trainings.

Day 3- Remote Supervision, Training, Teaming, & Consultation to Enhance Service Quality

The third session describes flexible methods for using remote supervision, training, teaming, and consultation to enhance service quality and equity, while offering flexible methods to monitor and support geographically dispersed teams. Community providers will learn about a telehealth toolkit including resources for using telehealth and guided activities for implementation. Training materials, including the slide deck and a 1-hour recorded presentation are available.

Day 4- Bringing it Altogether: How to Implement Telehealth & Remote Supports to Improve Positive Support Services

The final session describes how telehealth and remote strategies can be used to improve positive supports at an organizational systems level. Examples showing how positive support practices are used by organizations across Minnesota are provided. The presentation includes information about how regional capacity building can be used to improve both telehealth usage and positive support implementation.
